Well its been a quite couple of days with the festivals over and family members gone home or back to work. I am glad and sad, sad because they are really wonderful people with hearts that are size 12. Glad because my liver was calling for a plane ticket home and taking my stomach with it. The parties have stopped so my liver has talked the stomach into staying because all I do is eat still. Well at least I'll have a bigger roof over my tools for all the rain of the last few days.
We went over to another Antonio's house 2 days ago and saw his fighting cocks, they still have that here and we're going next week. After eating the best tangering (had 2 really) in my life right of the tree. Then seeing his green house full of orchids, baby chicks (you missed it Elaine)and hens and sitting hens and well you get the picture. He has allot of hobbies and one of them is Ca`na (conya), its the local moonshine made from surgarcane and flavored with fruit.
The fruit will kick your ass, it gotta be the fruit, right? At first we had one and then what the hell have another. The third was the one that turned my volume up and made my senses really sensitive. I could now feel the rotation of the earth but not my face. Luckily I had the good senses to stop before I became aware of the moon's tidal pull. Maybe if the weather man drank this stuff he could get rid of all that dopler radar stuff and go with the ca`na, watching the weather would be allot more fun!
Well we went for pizza afterwords, the first non traditional food since I have been here. I switched to american food and went to a puerto rican driver, back to traditional food for sure. Frank is defensive but Tony is offensive. Why not, he lives here has only lost a 3 mirrors to the narrows. I will tell you more about the Bronco driving adventure tomorrow, it doesn't have headlights to speak of, really. Tony uses the force when he drives.
After all I say in my writing I still am awed by the people and sights I see. Puerto Rico is not for everyone I'm sure but I sure love it nad if ever I am able too, it will be a winter retreat for me I'm sure!
